Tiger Woods Washington, Feb 17 (DPA) Tiger Woods Friday will make his first public statement since a car accident unleashed a series of revelations about infidelity and halted his illustrious golfing career.
“Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future, and he plans to apologize for his behaviour,” read a statement released on Woods’ website Wednesday.

Woods will speak at 11 a.m. (1600 GMT) at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. There would not be any questions accepted from the media.

Woods has not played golf and not appeared in public since he crashed his car into a tree outside his house in the middle of the night in late November.

The circumstances of the crash unleashed a series of rumours about Woods’ marriage and affairs. The star golfer in a written statement has since admitted to “infidelity” and postponed his golfing career “indefinitely,” saying he was working to repair his marriage.

“While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between him and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him,” the statement Wednesday said.

“He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends, and that’s what he’s going to discuss.”
