tiger woods PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) — Tiger Woods will make a public statement on Friday and “apologize for his behavior,” his agent said on Wednesday. It will be his first public statement since his car accident last year, which was followed by a series of revelations about alleged affairs.

The event will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. EST at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. “Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future and he plans to apologize for his behavior,” agent Mark Steinberg said in an e-mailed statement to BNO News.

“While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between he and his wife, he also recognizes that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him,” Steinberg said. “He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends and that’s what he’s going to discuss.”

Tiger Woods will make the remarks to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates. Steinberg said it will not be a news conference, and there will be no question and answer session.

Most members of the media will not be able to follow Woods’ remarks in person, but from a room nearby instead. However, Steinberg said they are expecting to allow a small pool of reporters to cover the remarks in person.

A live video feed of the remarks will be made available to the media as well.
