Tiger Woods to apologize publicly for sexcapades

London, Feb 18 (ANI): Tiger Woods’ management company has announced that the golfer will soon hold a press conference to apologize for the extra-marital affairs, which have brought him shame.
The sportsman’s sexcapades were exposed following his car crash at the end of November last year.
“Tiger Woods will be speaking to a small group of friends, colleagues and close associates at 11:00am EST Friday at the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida,” the Telegraph quoted Woods’s management company as stating in a release.
It added: “Tiger plans to discuss his past and his future and he plans to apologise for his behaviour.”
Also, Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, said: “While Tiger feels that what happened is fundamentally a matter between he and his wife, he also recognises that he has hurt and let down a lot of other people who were close to him.
“He also let down his fans. He wants to begin the process of making amends and that’s what he’s going to discuss. This is all about the next step. He’s looking forward to it.”
Meanwhile, the timing of Woods’ press conference is set to coincide with the Accenture Match Play Championship currently taking place in Arizona.
Many speculators including golfer Rory McIlroy, who completed a brilliant comeback victory over Kevin Na in the first round of the Accenture, feel that Woods wants to hurt his former sponsor Accenture, by drawing attention away from the event, for cancelling his contract after the exposure of his multiple affairs.
McIlroy said: “I suppose he might want to get something back at the sponsors. He’s got to come back at some point. It’s just gone on for so long. I’m sick of hearing about it and I’m looking forward to when he’s coming back on the golf course.”
However, the head of Accenture has said that the company did not have a problem with Woods’ timing.
Also, Tim Finchem, the commissioner of the PGA Tour, added that he didn’t think the timing was meant to annoy Accenture. (ANI)
