Feb 19, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tiger Woods’ decision to emerge from his self imposed hiatus has met with the rage of many of his compatriots, and is being criticized by many observers. Just this week itself, Tiger Woods’ manager had reported via an email that the golfer would be making a public appearance on Friday- the first after he announced his decision of taking an indefinite break from golf- in order to explain his absence, answer questions about his future plans, and most of all, to begin the procedure of making amends to all the “transgressions” that had hurt a huge number of people, including his friends, family and fans.

This decision of Tiger Woods, which otherwise has been pretty long in coming, has attracted a lot of unkind remarks precisely because of the timing. It has been claimed that the timing cannot be worse, not for the golfer himself, but for others. Since the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship is currently on, it is being believed that the much awaited return of Tiger Woods is going to take away a lot of focus from the tournament itself.

Tiger Woods’ choice of the moment to make his public appearance is being criticized as “selfish”, possibly keeping in mind the fact that while it is going to do wonders for him, it will probably be harming the championship currently in session. All the more because he was being toured to make a comeback in this very tournament. The sponsor of the event, Accenture, was the first one to drop Tiger Woods is also going to hog a lot of limelight.
