Mar 8, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With leading sponsors dumping troubled golfer Tiger Woods in the wake of his sex scandal, it is now the turn of the World No.1 golfer to show his back at major sponsors. According to reports, the ace golfer had turned down a $75 million offer by the Ireland based bookmaker Paddy Power. However, the gambling company is still said to be keeping its hope high as it is planning to offer a revised deal to the 34 year old golfer.
It has been confirmed by a spokesperson of the company late last week, that it had indeed offered a contract to Tiger Woods which was likely to be valid for a period of five years. However, the deal was rejected by the champion golfer’s management company IMG, which later revealed in a statement that at this point of time it was not involved in discussions with any prospective sponsors for the World No.1 golfer. Meanwhile, Paddy Power has revealed that despite the fact that the deal was declined by Tiger Woods, it still remains zealous to work with the ace golfer and is also considering making a modified offer to the billionaire golfer.
The revelation of the multiple extramarital affair involving the pro golfer propelled a number of his leading sponsors to end their association with him, which includes Accenture, Gillette, AT&T among others. The trouble commenced for the champion golfer after the car crash incident outside his Florida home which was followed by reports of his illicit relationship with as many as 19 women. Although he made a public apology for his actions, Tiger Woods is yet to make a comeback in his professional career.
