Los Angeles, Oct 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tiger Woods had an embarrassing moment when a fan threw a hot dog at him. The golfer was readying himself for a putt when the fan breached the security and got on the green. The security quickly arrested the man but very few details have emerged about the identity of the attacker.

The incident happened on Sunday and the suspect has been identified as a 31-year-old. Woods stopped playing briefly after the incident but he returned later to continue with play.

After the play on Sunday, Woods explained that, “Some guy just came running on the green, and he had a hot dog, and evidently… I don’t know how he tried to throw it, but I was kind of focusing on my putt when he started yelling.”

Woods believe the man was just trying to get the attention. Police say the man has been charged with misdemeanor charge of disturbing public peace. Officials say he was booked and later released.

When he was questioned, the suspect reportedly told the police that he did not intend to throw the hot dog at Woods. He said he just wanted to throw the hot dog in the air.

The California golf tournament is the first PGA event for the former world number one golfer in seven weeks.
