tiger9Pebble Beach, California, Feb 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The news is out. The speculation is over. Tiger Woods would not be returning to the golf course anytime soon. At least, not in this WGC’Accenture Match Play Championship. Speculations were rampant about his possible return to the sport, putting an end to the indefinite break that he had imposed on himself after the mistresses and scandals tumbled out of his golf kit. Since then, numerous rumors and speculations have done the rounds regarding his return. The biggest hype was about the Match Play Championship. However, with the release of the 64-man field, it no longer remains a possibility.

The WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship is scheduled to be held in Arizona the next week. It was being hoped that Tiger Woods might be entering the championship, particularly considering that the sport is not half as interesting or watchable unless the world’s numero uno golfer is playing it. However, the 64-man field released by the PGA Tour, in which the name of Tiger Woods is conspicuous by its absence, has dashed the hopes of all those who were looking forward to his magic in the golf course.

It has been confirmed by the authorities that they, like the rest of the world, have not heard from Tiger Woods ever since he decided to step away from golf for the time being. The deadline for entering one’s name in the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship was 5p.m., and Tiger Woods did not meet it. With the celebrity golfer not playing in the championship, it can be safely predicted that much of the intrigue would be lost.
