Tiger Woods: Fined By PGA

tgThe PGA tour is going to fine Tiger Woods for his open criticism of a PGA tour ‘rules official’. This incident happened after Woods won the Bridgestone Invitational.

At one point of time while the game for the 16th hole was on, Padraig Harrington was at a one shot lead over Woods. Then suddenly they were informed that they were being timed. In golfing parlance this actually means that the remaining shots had to be finished within a certain period of time. Tiger being the champion professional he is, managed to come out of this situation almost unscathed while Harrington lost his balance and ended up being tied at the second position only.

After the game was over Tiger Woods referred to this incident and said that according to him the fact that both of them were being timed had a negative effect on Harrington’s game and that Harrington rushed through the remaining three shots which in normal circumstances he would have avoided.

Though at one point of time Harrington was one shot ahead of Woods, yet after this incident he lost by four shots.

The usually reticent Tiger Woods in the mean time has made his thoughts clear and was quoted saying, “Like I was telling him out there, I’m sorry that John [the rules official] got in the way of a great battle, because it was such a great battle for 16 holes.” Woods further added, “We’re going at it, head-to-head, and unfortunately that happened. Paddy and I will definitely do it again.”
