WINDERMERE, FLORIDA (BNO NEWS) – Elin Nordegren, who recently got divorced from PGA golfer Tiger Woods, said that she is feeling stronger than ever despite the recent turnarounds in her life, People magazine reported on Wednesday.

After a nine-month silence, Nordegren spoke about her problems with her former husband. Since Woods’ affairs became public, she got involved in a media frenzy that appears to have concluded this week with the couple’s divorce.

“I have been through the stages of disbelief and shock, to anger and ultimately grief over the loss of the family I so badly wanted for my children,” Nordegren told the publication.

Nordegren, 30, has two children from her marriage to the famous golfer. She said that despite her ex-husband’s betrayal, “I also feel stronger than I ever have. I have confidence in my beliefs, my decisions and myself.”

The mother of two is currently studying towards a college degree in psychology. She told the magazine that she intends to remain a private person away from the media spotlight.

“My immediate plan is for the kids and me to continue to adjust to our new situation. I am going to keep taking classes, but my main focus is to try to give myself time to heal.”
