Tiger Woods and free CadillacsFlorida, Jan 13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tiger Woods has been deprived of his supply of free cars. Apparently, he had struck up a deal with the reputed automobile company, General Motors, which stated that he would be allowed a supply of Cadillacs, free of cost. However, the contract expired in 2008, but the golfer was still allowed to keep some of the cars. Unfortunately, however, it was one of those cars that he crashed on Nov 27 in Florida, a Cadillac Escalade. The deal was officially brought to an end on the last day of the last year.

Strangely enough, the golfer was allowed to use some of the cars that he had obtained for free from the General Motors, a Buick Enclave crossover and a few SUVs. All the cars that he possessed, that is, those he had been given by the automobile company, has been taken away by General Motors. According to one of the spokespersons of the company General Motors, Dayna Hart, the decision that the deal would be finally withdrawn, had been made long before the crash or the ensuing scandals that emerged.

However, the sudden decision of the company to terminate the contract has given rise to a number of speculations. Despite the company’s assertion that the decision had nothing to do with the fact of the scandals, it is being considered as the most probable reason. Added to that is the fact of the recession. Tiger Woods has lost a number of sponsors in recent times, and it might be possible that the company dropped the deal as they did not find him bankable any more.
