Tiger Woods’ apology didn’t impress ex-golfer Frank Nobilo

Sydney, Feb 20 (ANI): Former professional golfer Frank Nobilo feels Tiger Woods’ public apology over his extra-marital affairs was unimpressive.
The sportsman turned analyst on the American Golf Channel thinks Woods could have come up with the statement immediately after his sexcapades were exposed.
“When a man says he’s sorry, you’ve got to applaud that, but why couldn’t it have been done a couple of months ago,” the Sydney Morning Herald quoted him as saying.
He added: “He wants everybody to stay away from his family (but) if this had come out a couple of months ago he would have protected his family a little better.
“He’s accused the media of hounding his family (but) he sadly threw the people who’d already been hurt smack bang in the middle of the fire.”
Nobilo insisted Woods should have answered questions to the three journalists present during the apology.
He said: “Coming from New Zealand, I’m just not one for prepared statements. There’s a point you’ve got to look your fans in the eye and let them ask a question.
“It doesn’t have to be about how many woman and who it was. Sometimes you want to see a person’s direct response to your question and that’s one of the things that was lacking today.”
Referring to the absence of Woods’ wife Elin from the staged event, Nobilo added: “That goes to show us the state of that situation at home, which judging by Tiger’s words is borderline catastrophic still.” (ANI)
