Orlando, Feb 20, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After a long period of silence, we got to hear Tiger Woods on Friday. He spoke for almost 13 minutes from the clubhouse at the TPC Sawgrass, home of the U.S. PGA Tour. With tear filled eyes, Tiger Woods publicly apologized for his actions. Very few reporters were allowed in the room, which had about 40 people altogether. The mother of the golf star was present. After finishing his speech, Tiger Woods hugged his mother and said, “I am deeply sorry for my irresponsible and selfish behavior.”

Ever since the car crash on November 27, which brought out some shocking truths about him, this is the first time we heard him speak publicly. He said he solely holds himself responsible for his actions. He admitted he had been unfaithful towards his family. He got emotional when he paused in between his speech and stared at the camera.

The golf star said he would return to golf someday. However, he is not yet sure when. Tiger Woods is probably concentrating on his personal life for the time being. He said he has visited a rehabilitation center for 6 weeks. He added he would take more of these therapies in the recent future.

Tiger Woods wife Elin Nordegren was not present at the conference. According to sources, they have called off their divorce. However, Elin Nordegren and Tiger Woods are staying apart. Elin Nordegren is not even wearing her wedding ring. Tiger Woods apparently wants to give their marriage another try. In the conference on Friday, Tiger Woods said he would become a better human being now.
