Jan 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Tiger Woods has created a legacy for himself in the golf world because of his incredible gaming skills and his absence in the PGA Tour is highly felt by the fans, golfers and coaches alike. As Tiger Woods is not playing this year, other golfers are giving their best to retain the attraction of the tournament. Though many golfers have participated in the game, it appears that the tournament still needs Tiger Woods’ presence.
According to one recent report, Tiger Woods decision of not playing in the PGA Tour has made a significant impact on the financial condition of the tour. It has been reported that the tour had lost some major sponsors after the golf pro decided to take temporary leave from the game. The reports indicate that Nike and PGA Tour had lost around $220 million dollars after Tiger Woods announced to take an indefinite break.
Many companies had incurred huge losses in the global meltdown, which had reduced the sponsorship for the PGA Tournament. However, Tiger Woods’ presence used to draw some big sponsors and his decision is making a great impact on the tour. This tournament had earned Tiger Woods a huge fame and people expect that like many other golfers, Tiger Woods would also take some steps to support it.
The popularity of Tiger Woods in the golf field indicates that the reports of multiple affairs with mistresses had tarnished his personal image but his image as a golfer has remained unscathed. Many of his fans are hopeful that the reports related to his affairs would gradually fadeout once he comes back to the field and plays exhibits outstanding strokes.
