Thousands to take part in Russian ski race
February 13th, 2011 - 1:08 pm ICT by IANSMoscow, Feb 13 (IANS/RIA Novosti) Thousands of skiers will participate Sunday in an all-Russian race entitled Russian Ski Run 2011, with a 78-year-old woman set to be the oldest participant.The race has been held annually since 1982. It includes two kilometres (1.2-mile), five kilometres (3.1-mile), 10 km (6.2-mile) and other events.
The oldest skier will be Vera Orlova, 78, from the city of Cheboksary in the Volga Federal District. She has participated in the event since 2004.
