Thousands Of Fans Attend Los Angeles Lakers Victory Parade

parade1Los Angeles, June 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The two mile stretch of downtown Los Angeles from Staples Center to the Galen Center in the University of Southern California turned into a sea of people on Monday as tens of thousands of Los Angeles Lakers fans gathered at the parade to celebrate their team’s much anticipated victory. The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Boston Celtics on Thursday at the Game 7 of the NBA Finals to clinch their 16th NBA championship.

Large number of fans of the Los Angeles Lakers attended the victory parade, waving flags and blowing horns as the float carrying the players cruised passed the route with the jubilant fans cheering the NBA champions.

In order to get a better view of the heroes, some of the fans climbed on the fences, stood on bus stops while some crawled up traffic signals. Although the police authorities did not confirm the estimated crowd size, 500,00 to two million people are reported to have assembled all across the parade route.

Rosario Herrera, an officer of the Los Angeles Police Department revealed to news sources that at least six people have been taken into custody for indulging in minor offenses in the victory parade though no significant untoward incident was reported.

Meanwhile, one of the added bonuses that awaited the crowds gathered at the parade route was the presence of the players along with their family. Kobe Bryant was surely having a time of his life as he rode in the open air bus along with his wife and two children. The parade also witnessed the presence of Khloe Kardashian who was present to support her husband Lakers player, Lamar Odom.
