Hamburg, July 11 (DPA) Barcelona and France forward Thierry Henry is set to move to major league soccer club Red Bull New York, news reports said Sunday.
The reports said that Henry, 32, is due to be unveiled by the New York club Thursday.
The club has announced a news conference for the day, but sports director Erik Solar said a contract with a prominent player was not yet signed. He did not want to confirm that the player in question is Henry.
The 123-times capped Henry was part of the French World Cup team which crashed out in the first round in South Africa, but only used as a substitute. He is also only a reserve player in Barcelona where he has played since 2007 after eight years in England at Arsenal.
