There is no rift in team, says Yuvraj
April 1st, 2010 - 10:00 pm ICT by IANSMohali, April 1 (IANS) Kings XI Punjab’s batsman Yuvraj Singh Thursday rubbished media reports that he was not having cordial relationship with team mates.
“If anybody is out of form, it does not mean that you (media) can write anything. You (media) cannot just go on and on and write that one is against the other without any basis,” said a visibly disappointed Yuvraj at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium.
Media reports had suggested that Yuvraj was frustrated on losing the captaincy of Kings XI Punjab to Sri Lankan Kumara Sangakara.
“Whatever is being written and said is not correct. There is no rift between anyone in the team,” said Yuvraj.
After the Kings XI Punjab’s practice session at PCA stadium, Yuvraj did not leave for the team hotel in Chandigarh and instead drove off in his silver-coloured Audi sports car.
Kings XI Punjab is at the bottom of the Indian Premier League (IPL) table with only one win in six matches.
Even Sangakara refuted reports of rift.
“Today you saw the warm up game we had. All the local, domestic, Indian and international players got on so well together. When you lose, everyone opens themselves up to criticism, some fair and some unfair,” he said.
“There is no rift among players,” he added.
