tigerOct 4, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The much anticipated golf tournament between teams from Europe and United States, The Ryder Cup kicked off on October 1 and it is taking place in newly renovated Celtic Manor Resort in New Port South Wales. The popular sports channel ESPN and also NBC is covering the games and the sports fanatics can watch it at home by just switching on the television button. However, in-spite of the delay the match was not canceled though some of the spectators returned home thinking that the match was suspended.

A reputed media source reported that the game was affected due to torrential rain. There were about 50,000 spectators who were present in the field to watch their favorite players win the game. However, they were disappointed as the match could not start for a long time owing to the rainy weather. Ryder Cup match director Ed Kitson said in his statement that the spectators who paid for tickets to watch the match yesterday can watch it today as well. However, later the games started off with a good pace and it saw the Europeans leading the games by defeating Americans.

Tiger Woods suffered his worst Ryder Cup defeat ever along with Steve Stricker against Lee Westwood and Luke Donald as the European launched their fight back in the match. After the victory Lee Westwood said that when he plays against Tiger Woods, he lifts up his game a little bit in order to give a tough competition to the golf player. The Ryder Cup officials have already announced that no matter how the weather conditions remain, whole Ryder Cup will be wrapped by Monday evening. If the 28 scheduled matches are not completed by the end of the day, then only the results of all completed matches will be counted.
