Dirk Nowitski, the star from Germany scored a mind boggling 44 points and 13 rebounds to give the Mavericks from Dallas a close 119-117 victory over the Denver Nuggets. This victory will help the Dallas Mavericks to not only to keep their alive in the playoffs but will also do an enormous good to their confidence.
This victory scored by the Dallas Mavericks over the Denver Nuggets also denies the Nuggets a clean sweep over the Mavericks in the second round of the best of seven Western Conference NBA Playoffs. However, if the Nuggets are able repeat the feat of this game and score another victory in the upcoming game five at home on Wednesday, then who knows the tables can always turn with two games remaining.
After the game, the Nowitzki said, “We’re not done yet. We played for one more chance; we’ve still got our hands full. We will let it rip one more time and see what happens.”
Of the total 44 points scored by the German, 19 came in the fourth quarter. The other scorers for the Mavericks were Jason Howard with 21 points and 11 rebounds with Jason Kidd made his contribution with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
