alamoSan Antonio, Texas, Jan 3, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The college football season is coming to an end as the day for the Bowl Championship Series game is coming closer. Few days are left for the championship bowl in Pasadena and to charge up fans, teams are giving thrilling performances in the bowls scheduled in these days. Five bowl games were scheduled on January 2 and each of them saw some spectacular performances from the players. The Alamo Bowl played between the Texas Tech Red Raiders and Michigan State Spartans had been a high scoring game. Both the teams had made the maximum use of their offense, to score the winning points but it was the Texas Tech, who won the Alamo Bowl this year.

Playing a bowl game without a head coach is quite difficult but the Texas Tech did that successfully and won. Mike Leach, the head coach of the team had been suspended few days back for allegedly abusing Adam James, a sophomore player. Even in the absence of Mike Leach, the team was bubbling with confidence and the immense support of fans led them to victory. As per the reports, Texas Tech Red Raiders scored 41 points and restricted the Michigan State Spartans to 31 points.

The aggressive offense and the well-planned defense of Texas Tech helped them defend their scores. Ruffin McNeill, the interim coach of the team, who guided them for the Alamo Bowl surely must have been impressed with the performance of his squad against the Spartans. As per the reports, Texas Tech had scored total offense of 580 yard, which included 472 yards passing yards and ended their season with a win.
