Irving, Texas, Apr 11, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The legendary Texas Stadium which was home to the Dallas Cowboys for many years, is all set to be demolished on early Sunday morning. The iconic landmark which witnessed five Super Bowl championships of the Dallas Cowboys would be turned in a heap of dust when a dynamite is used to destroy the stadium.
The destruction of the Texas Stadium would come as a huge disappointment to all the players who had the opportunity to showcase their talent in the venue as well as the large number of fans who thronged the stadium on several occasions to cheer for their favorite team. It had been earlier revealed that the public parking at the venue would be opened up much before the process of demolition begins and fans who want to catch a glimpse of the annihilation of the historic landmark should be in the venue before the scheduled time. While talking about the event, David Tull, a spokesperson of the Irving police has divulged that patrolling in the adjoining area would be strengthened from Saturday itself and the highways near the Texas Stadium would be shut down from a distance about half an hour before the explosion commences.
Apart from being the venue of five Super Bowl championships for the Dallas Cowboys, the Texas Stadium is also known to have been associated with events such as worship services guided by Billy Graham as well as Von Erich brothers wrestling events. The stadium, which had a seating capacity of 65,675, was inaugurated way back in 1971 and was closed down in the month of December, 2008.
