Texas Rangers’ Manager Confesses Cocaine Use

Arizona, March 18, (THAINDIAN NEWS) After having an inkling that there might be some websites which could make public the reports of Texas Rangers’ manager Ron Washington’s drug test failure last July, the club along with Ron Washington arranged for a hasty news conference and announced the news. The manager Ron Washington had reportedly confessed that he had used cocaine during the first half of the last season. A tearful Ron Washington apologized for his deed in front of his players and said that he would never repeat the mistake again.
In Last year July, Ron Washington was randomly picked for the Major League Baseball drug test. The test chooses randomly team managers, coaches and other members of the club and is conducted by the Major League Baseball’s drug assistance program after the Mitchell Report. After Ron Washington went for the test, he confessed of his guilt in front of the Texas Rangers’ club members and also put forward his resignation. However, the club declined to accept his resignation reportedly.
Ron Washington had then gone for rehabilitation and many other drug tests. He had passed in all other subsequent tests that were carried out. The manager on Wednesday, apologized to the players of Texas Rangers for committing such a grave mistake. He had also said that he would undergo all the tests which would be asked of him. On Wednesday, after he delivered his speech, Ron Washington asked the players to give their opinion on the matter, to which majority answered that they wanted Ron Washington to lead the team still. Under Ron Washington, the Texas team had gained the second position in the 2009 American League West.
