Texas Christian University (TCU) Post 41-24 Win Over Southern Methodist University (SMU)

Dallas, Sep 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) On Friday night, the overflowing audience at the Gerald J. Ford Stadium of Dallas witnessed the fourth seeded Texas Christian University (TCU) post a 41-24 win over the Southern Methodist University (SMU) team at the latter’s home town. Although the Southern Methodist University (SMU) was able to post a lead at the beginning of the third quarter, the Horned Frogs were able to trail the lead and then come up with some brilliant play in the fourth quarter that left the host trailing behind by several points.
From the very beginning of the Friday night game, both the teams emerged with some great footwork. However, entering into the third quarter, Andy Dalton’s second interception led to a touchdown that provided the Southern Methodist University (SMU) with a three point lead over the Texas Christian University (TCU) team. The SMU was seen, although for a short period, leading the TCU by 17-14. However, the TCU did not lay behind and safety Jeremy Kerley changed the face of the game with his 83 yards kickoff. The TCU got back into control and for the rest of the game, it was SMU that was seen trailing behind. Andy Dalton threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to provide his team a 21-17 lead. The TCU then after put together one after another scoring drives in the third quarter to provide a 28-17 lead over the SMU that came up with some great play. However, there is no denying the fact that the SMU came up with some good display of both their offense and defense skills.
After the game, the Southern Methodist University (SMU) coach June Jones said “When you play against that team, you’ve got to make plays when you have chances”. The coach acknowledged that although the offense did some things good, it had also committed certain mistakes.
