London, Jan 20 (ANI): To fund a new life as a country gentleman, England captain John Terry has secretly put his mansion and his mother’s home up for sale.
The Chelsea star wants to raise 11.5 million pounds to buy a country pile where he can be lord of the manor while wife Toni indulges in her new found love of horses.
His five-bedroom home in Oxshott, Surrey, is on the market for 6.5 million pounds and comes complete with its own cinema and games room.
But he has ordered estate agents only to mention it “discreetly” to serious buyers.
Terry, 29, is confident of making a huge profit on the 2.25 million pounds he paid for his modern mansion in 2003.
He has also put mum Sue’s neighbouring seven-bedroom home up for sale for five million pounds, The Sun reports.
The soccer ace, who has three-year-old twin girls, will leave neighbours including tennis star Andy Murray and Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba.
A source said: “John and his wife want a complete change of lifestyle. He’ll be living the life of a genuine English country gentleman. John wants to move right into the country where Toni can indulge her passion for horses and he can get away from the pressure of the day job.” (ANI)
