Tennis ace Sania Mirza to get engaged today
July 10th, 2009 - 6:56 pm ICT by ANIHyderabad, July 10 (ANI): Tennis sensation Sania Mirza will get engaged in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, on Friday evening.
Sania Mirza is getting engaged to Hyderabad based businessman Mohammad Sohrab Mirza, son of N. Adil Mirza.
The engagement ceremony will take place at plush hotel Taj.
Imran Mirza, father of Sania Mirza said that the engagement ceremony was a family affair with only the closed ones being invited.
“It is a family oriented thing where only a very few close people and friends have been invited. It is not a show,” said Imran.
Sania became the first Indian eve to capture any Grand Slam title when she partnered Russia’s Alisa Kleybanova to win the junior doubles title at Wimbledon in 2003 and later she became the first Indian woman to win a WTA event that she won on her home courts at Hyderabad, in 2005. (ANI)
