jacksonNov.13, (THAINDIAN NEWS) American football player Janzen Jackson has been arrested along with two of his teammates on Thursday morning as they were allegedly involved in a robbery that took place at a gas station along the edge of the University of Tennessee campus. Jackson along with other two convicts are in their freshman year at the University of Tennessee.

Although intrinsic details about the incident have not been available till now, police have claimed that Tennessee freshman Nu’keese Richardson and Mike Edwards were armed when they stopped a car at a store and demanded money from the people present inside the vehicle at gunpoint. Later, when things did not seem to go as per the plan, Jackson approached the car and asked his accomplices to leave immediately. Reportedly, the teenagers also had a woman companion with them. they fled from the crime scene, but were later nabbed by the police. The incident took place at around 2 A.M in the morning when the victims were in their parked cars who later identified them.

However, Jackson was freed later on Thursday afternoon and his attorney released a statement that emphasized that the player was innocent. Meanwhile, Lane Kiffin, the coach at the University of Tennessee did not want to comment much about the incident as investigations were still going on and as at that moment enough details were not available. Interestingly, the arrests might act as an eyeopener for the coach as he had earlier in the season taken pride in the fact that no player from his team has been ever arrested.
