Tendulkar’s ‘three metre wide bat’ makes Test cricket tough: Hussey

Sydney, Oct 19 (ANI): Australian batsman Mike Hussey becomes an onfield cheerleader for the team to keep the morale high, as he knows that Test cricket becomes tough when master blaster Sachin Tendulkar bats with what looks like a ‘three metre wide bat’.
In Bangalore, Hussey was seen patting debutant Peter George on the back or backside after every over, maintaining a level of up that few can match.
“I try to keep the boys up, Test cricket is bloody hard work, especially when you’ve got Sachin Tendulkar batting with what looks like a three metre wide bat,” Hussey said.
“That’s what I enjoy as well, if it was really easy then everyone would be doing it and that’s what I think stands some players out from others, is showing your character when you’re under real duress, real pressure or when things aren’t going well,” he said.
Hussey, who is also facing increasing calls to quit Test cricket after dip in form, is looking around at players who prospered late in their careers.
“I must admit last summer I found it a lot harder to get away from that because there seemed like a lot of speculation, but certainly watching guys like Sachin Tendulkar play so well at 37, Steve Waugh played well later in his career, Matt Hayden, Justin Langer, there’s so much evidence of guys playing very well, well past 35, so I can take a lot of confidence from that,” he said.
