Sachin Tendulkar Mumbai, May 3 (ANI): Hard hitting batsman Kieron Pollard has said that Mumbai Indians victory in the Indian Premier League against Kings XI Punjab by 23 runs was an outcome of teamwork.

Sachin Tendulkar and Ambati Thirupathi Rayudu managed 51 runs each to enable Mumbai Indians put up a score of 159 for 5 from their 20 overs.

With bowlers like Harbhajan Singh, Lasith Malinga and Munaf Patel, delivering tight line and length the Punjab was restricted to 136 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs.

“To be honest, I have been fantastic, we are not watching Sachin but we are all the other guys, their scores have been fantastic. It’s a team effort, you know, not everyday you get an opportunity to do something at this twenty-20 cricket, it just shows our hard intense sources… particularly you actually carry opportunity.

“So, it’s just me trying to keep my focus and continue doing my work and whenever the opportunity arises try to capitalise on it,” said Kieron Pollard.

Mumbai Indians, led by India’s iconic cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, is the strong favourites for the title this year.

“We had our chances in the game that we have played. Particularly today our bowlers did a good job to restrict them to that total. We fell only 20 short. So, it was pretty close,” said Adam Gilchrist, skipper of Kings XI Punjab.

He also added his team’s batting line-up has not fired in the tournament and in the last two games they had not batted well. (ANI)
