Kolkata, Dec 22 (IANS) Amidst stringent security, the Indian and Sri Lankan teams arrived in the city Tuesday evening by a chartered flight from Bhubaneswar to play the fourth one-dayer at the Eden Gardens on the Christmas eve.
The team buses were taken close to the aircraft inside the NSC Bose International Airport’s parking bay for the players to board as a security measure.
The teams, accompanied by commandoes in the buses, were driven straight to the team hotel in south Kolkata.
Injured Indian player Yuvraj Singh, who has been ruled out of action for the remaining two matches of the series, did not accompany the team. Sachin Tendulkar had come to the city earlier Tuesday morning for a felicitation function.
