Mumbai, Mar. 12 (ANI): New Zealand cricket team captain Ross Taylor is hoping for a good World Cup game against Canada here on Sunday at the Wankhede Stadium.
Taylor said that he was looking forward to Sunday’s match.
“In every World Cup, we play we are expected to win. Maybe the public of New Zealand does not have the high expectations as we do as players. We may get to the semi-finals, but not to the finals. Obviously it’s a big tournament. The confidence is high inside, but tomorrow is another big game and we are trying to focus on that,” he said.
“We know we are a good side and we believe each other and we put together performances to put in a consistent performance. We would win a game and then lose a couple. Why it was the case, I’m not sure. And, if I did know, then they would not have happened. The confidence in the campus is (it) gets hard once you get on the role. Cricket is a momentum game and once you put confidence in momentum you start to play better. The confidence in each other comes here as well,” he added.
New Zealand has won three of the four matches in the World Cup with only one defeat against Australia.
They had defeated Pakistan in their last match at Kandy in Sri Lanka, by a margin of 110 runs. (ANI)
