Tandon shocks top seed Dixit for junior squash title

Chennai, Oct 29 (IANS) Second seed Ramit Tandon provided the only surprise result of the day when he beat Asian junior champion Ravi Dixit in the all-Tamil Nadu boys under-19 final of the National sub-junior and junior squash championship, here Friday.

After winning a close first game, Tandon wrapped up the tie by taking the next two even as top seeded Dixit faded from the contest. Tandon won 13-11, 11-3, 11-8.

Anaka Alankamony of Tamil Nadu duly emerged junior girls champion with a straight forward win against second seeded Ankita Sharma of Maharashtra.
