Tandon moves into second round of world junior squash
July 14th, 2011 - 2:34 pm ICT by IANSHerentals (Belgium), July 14 (IANS) Ramit Tandon, the highest seeded Indian, led three of his compatriots into the second round of the WSF men’s World Junior Squash Championships here.
Tandon, seeded 5-8, beat Aqeel Ashkanani of Kuwait 11-7, 11-6, 11-4, in just 23 minutes while Kush Kumar defeated Marc ter Sluis (NED) 11-4, 10-12, 8-11, 11-1, 11-0, Abhishek Pradhan overcame Remo Handl (SUI) 11-9, 11-5, 11-1, and Mahesh Mangaonkar (9-16) accounted for Thomas Dembinski (USA) 11-1, 11-1, 11-4. The matches were played Wednesday.
However, Vrishab Kotian went down to 5-8 seeded Mohamed Abouelghar 5-11, 4-11, 3-11 in 22 minutes.
