dirk-hayhurstJan 22, (THAINDIAN NEWS) With all that has been taking place in the Tampa Bay Rays camp from yesterday it seems like the team is currently on a signing spree. The Tampa Bay Rays recently signed in former Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Dirk Hayhurst for a minor league contract. The deal however, has been a blessing for Dirk Hayhurst who had not been chosen by the Toronto Blue Jays for this 2011 contract. Dirk Hayhurst who is a right-handed pitcher had spent almost the entire 2010 season recovering from his right shoulder surgery.

Dirk Hayhurst however is not the only one to have been hired by Tampa Bay Rays for others like outfielder Chris Carter, and infielders Ray Olmedo, Daniel Mayora and pitcher Jonah Bayliss have also been signed by the Rays for the minor league contracts. Both Dirk Hayhurst and Jonah Bayliss are right-handed pitchers and are credited with having a major league experience. 29 year old Dirk Hayhurst is all elated and his happiness was conspicuous after he announced that he was extremely happy to be with a splendid team like that of the Tampa Bay Rays.

He said that the offer was in a way redemptive for it had come from a competitive team like Rays. Dirk Hayhurst has played for 15 games for the Toronto Blue Jays while Jonah Bayliss has played in 61 games for the Kansas City and Pittsburgh. Dirk Hayhurst was seen addressing the Tampa Bay Rays over the web where he not only mentioned about the recent deal but also said how inspiring Tampa Bay Rays as a team was by creating positive vibes through their games.
