Takanori Gomi Clinches Victory Against Tyson Griffin

romiSan Diego, Aug 2, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Japanese mixed martial artist Takanori Gomi registered a stunning victory against Tyson Griffin at the UFC on Versus 2 show which was held in San Diego on Sunday. All the fans of the Fireball Kid were surely in for a huge treat as the fighter went ahead to clinch victory in the bout against his American opponent.

Last night’s win must have tasted all the more sweet for the 31-year-old mixed martial artist as this was his first triumph in four fights in the United States soil in the past few years, which also includes a humiliating loss in his UFC debut against Kenny Florian. While reacting to his stunning feat during Sunday night’s UFC on Versus 2, the Japanese fighter stated that according to him, his UFC career has begun with the manner in which he fought last night’s bout as now he has got the hang of clashing against an American counterpart. Takanori Gomi also went on to say that when he was fighting in United States for the first time, he had no clue about how to fight the Americans but now things have changed for him. As the bout commenced on Sunday, the Japanese fighter knock his opponent out 64 seconds into the fight as he delivered a blow with his right hand on the side of Tyson Griffin’s head.

The knockout delivered by Takanori Gomi reminded his fans of his brawling wins during a 10-fight successive victories Pride Fighting Championships few years earlier when he had successful establishing himself as the undisputed MMA lightweight No.1. However, the Japanese fighter was unable to continue his amazing form over the last four years.
