Tait hopes wind can help him record fastest ball against Kiwis

Wellington, Feb 25 (ANI): Australian pacer Shaun Tait is hopeful that windy conditions at Wellington could help him record the fastest ball in history during the first Twenty20 game against New Zealand.
Tait said breaking Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar’s mark of 161.3kmh isn’t the main reason he gets out of bed each morning, but he’ll take it if the chance comes along.
Tait notched the fastest delivery recorded in Australia, clocked at 160.7kmh at the MCG on February 5.
“I’ve recorded 160 twice in my career. It’s a good feeling actually. It’s not all about bowling the fastest ball, bowling 160. You’ve got to get wickets. But as a fast bowler, when you do hit that mark it’s rewarding, yeah,” Stuff.co.nz quoted Tait, as saying.
“It would be great to bowl the fastest recorded ball. But it’s not really something I think about all the time. It’s one of those things, on the night. Like in Melbourne a couple of weeks ago, they don’t come around that often when you know you can bowl at that sort of speed.
“When the time does come, every now and then, you’re always going to have a crack at the quicker ball. In general I’ve been feeling pretty good,” Tait added.
The 27-year-old has claimed 11 wickets at 15.00 in his six T20 International matches including seven wickets in three games against West Indies and Pakistan in the Australian summer. (ANI)
