London, Feb 1 (IANS) Former Force India driver Adrian Sutil has called McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton a “coward” after the Briton failed to testify as a witness in his court case where he was given a 18-month suspended sentence for his involvement in a nightclub brawl during the Formula One Chinese Grand Prix last April.

“Lewis is a coward, I don’t want to be friends with someone like that,” Sutil was quoted as saying by German daily Bild.

Sutil, who is yet to find a race seat for the 2012 season, was found guilty of grievous bodily harm by a Munich court Tuesday for injuring Renault co-owner Eric Lux in a Shanghai nightclub where Hamilton was also present. Renault team has been renamed to Lotus for the upcoming season.

Sutil added that Hamilton was “not a man” for not showing up even as his father Anthony sent him a good luck message for the court case.

The German was also fined 200,000 euros for the act.
