Supergroup being formed for the 2012 Olympic
April 26th, 2011 - 8:10 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, April 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) London is gearing up for the Olympic Games in 2012. With the way that the previous Olympic Games was held in Beijing, London was undoubtedly under pressure to match up the performance or ideally up the scale.
The organizers have not lost sight of that fact – at least that is what the latest information suggests. The opening ceremony of the games will be directed by renowned Hollywood director Danny Boyle. With that confirmed, new reports suggest that the local organizing committee is putting up a ‘Supergroup’ for the Olympics.
Several names have been included in the supergroup. Noticeable once are those of some members of The Rolling Stones, The Beatles and the Sex Pistols. The individual names contained in the reports are Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr of the Beatles; Sir Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and John Lydon of the Sex Pistols.
Some fans are thrilled at the news. With this high profile singers attached to the project, it is no wonder that some athletes are also excited about the news. British athlete Steve Redgrave revealed that such an assembly of stars will be fantastic for the London Games to get the attention of the world.
