sugar-bowlNov 28, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Sugar Bowl 2011 is creating a buzz in the world of football. It will be starting from January 4, 2011 at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans. Also known as Allstate Sugar Bowl, it is an American college football bowl game and a part of the Bowl Championship Series. The football freaks are wondering which would be the teams, who might make it to this event.

The 2011 Sugar Bowl will mark its 77th annual event. It will start at 8 p.m. (ET) and will be aired live on ESPN. The two announcers who have been assigned for the event are Brad Nessler and Tom Blackledge. A lot of speculations are going on regarding who would be the qualifying teams for Sugar Bowl 2011. Ohio State might be one of them considering its performance till week 14. Its entry to the event will be confirmed when the BCS ranking will be declared today in the evening. Sources say that this team might be a sweet fit for the match. The other two probable teams that might fit the bill are the Tigers and the Gamecocks, depending on what happens in the SEC title game this weekend. The winner would straight make its way to the Sugar Bowl, if they are not in the national title game.

The Sugar Bowl has the first selection of at-large teams. The Rose Bowl would replace Oregon, however, Rose Bowl cannot pick Ohio State on that spot. Therefore, the Sugar Bowl is left with three main options which includes Texas Christian University, Ohio State or Michigan State. Amongst the three, the only non SEC at-larges will qualify for the Sugar Bowl. Considering in terms of fans, TV ratings and on-field product, it might not be a difficult choice.
