Strauss says Ashes tour was great despite 6-1 ODI loss
February 8th, 2011 - 4:16 pm ICT by ANILondon, Feb. 8 (ANI): England has had a great tour of Australia despite being crushed 6-1 in the one-day series feels skipper Andrew Strauss.
Strauss flew home with his battered and bruised side yesterday, and was in no doubt the 3-1 Ashes win had made the trip Down Under a cracker.
Strauss declared: “They are two different forms of the game and that Ashes victory was incredibly special, one we’ll savour forever.
“You talk to people in Australia and they say ‘great tour’, even though we have just lost 6-1, The Sun quoted Strauss, as saying.
He added: “We’re disappointed with the one-day results. But we’ll be on that plane, certainly those involved in The Ashes, and be very happy with what we’ve achieved.” (ANI)
