Stockholm Open: Somdev crashes out of first round

Stockholm (Sweden), Oct 18 (IANS) India’s Somdev Devvarman has crashed out of the men’s singles event at the 600,000 Euro Stockholm Open tennis going down fighting in straight sets in the opening round.
The 84th-ranked Somdev Monday went down fighting 6-7(4), 4-6 to wild card Tommy Haas of Germany, who is playing his first tournament since the US Open last month.
Veteran Haas, a two-time semi-finalist here and ranked 290th in the world, next plays the winner of the first round match between Spain’s Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and South Africa’s Kevin Anderson.
