Stephanie Rice keeps underwear sponsor despite anti-gay slur
September 8th, 2010 - 2:36 pm ICT by ANIMelbourne, Sept 8 (ANI): Australian swimmer Stephanie Rice will lose her Jaguar but retain her underwear sponsor after she made a homophobic slur on Twitter.
Rice, 22, had tweeted, “Suck on that f–gots!” following the Wallabies’ Tri-Nations weekend win over the Springboks, and her comment was globally reported.
And now the swimmer, who has already lost her Jaguar sponsorship, is also set to lose her gleaming new XF sports car, which is worth 100,000 dollars, News.com.au reported.
Fortunately, her other major sponsors, underwear company Davenport and Sunrice, are sticking by her no matter what. (ANI)
