treSep 27, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Although St. Louis Rams were able to register victory against Washington Redskins in the showdown that t0ook place on Sunday, the win failed to leave their fans exhilarated as the team’s star running back Steven Jackson suffered a groin injury during the game. The player was injured in the second quarter of the game while on a 2-yard run as his team went ahead to clinch a 30-16 victory against the Washington Redskins.

St. Louis Rams’ coach Steve Spagnuolo told the reporters on Sunday night that owing to his groin injury, Steven Jackson would be undergoing a MRI on Monday which would enable them to get more information about the nature of the injury. However, the St. Louis Rams’ coach has emphasized that at the moment it seems unlikely that the star running back is suffering from a tear in his groin while indicating that the tests would be able to shed light into the severity of his injury. While talking to the media, following his injury, the 27-year-old player expressed hope that the injury would not be a very serious one and he would be able to make a comeback on the field as soon as possible.

Coach Steve Spagnuolo also sounded hopeful about Steven Jackson’s chances of playing against Seattle Seahawks next week. After suffering the injury during Sunday’s game, the St. Louis Rams remained down for few moments while preliminary treatment was administered to him on the sideline. However, soon the player was seen walking to the locker room, to the utter disappointment of the large number of fans gathered at the venue.
