Colombo, Jan 16 (IANS) Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) Friday called for bids for international television, radio and other sponsorship rights for the upcoming five one-day series against India, to begin later this month.”Sri Lanka Cricket is pleased to invite offers from International TV Broadcasters for securing television, radio, mobile, internet and sponsorship rights for the forthcoming Indian Tour of Sri Lanka commencing on 28th January, 2009, and concluding on 10th February, 2009,” the SLC said in a statement Friday.

It said the offer for the hurriedly arranged ODI series should reach the office of Sri Lankan Sports Secretary S. Liyanagama, who is now acting as the competent authority of the SLC, by Jan 19, it said.

India’s five-match One-day series against Sri Lanka will begin in Dambulla Jan 28.

The Indian squad will arrive in Sri Lanka Jan 26. The first two one-dayers will be played in Dambulla (Jan 28 and 30), while the remaining three games will be held in Colombo on Feb 2, 5 and 8.

The only Twenty20 international will be played in Colombo Feb 10 and all matches will be played under lights apart from the fifth one-dayer.

The series was scheduled after India cancelled its tour to Pakistan in January-February following the Mumbai terror attacks.

Sri Lanka, which narrowly won the triangular series in Bangladesh Friday, will play three ODIs with Pakistan starting Jan 21 before coming back home to host India. The island nation squad will again fly back to Pakistan in February to play two Tests.
