Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by D/L method
May 4th, 2010 - 12:32 am ICT by IANSGuyana, May 3 (IANS) Sri Lanka beat Zimbabwe by 14 runs via Duckworth-Lewis (D/L) method in the rain-interrupted Group B match of the World Twenty20 at the Providence stadium here Monday.
Mahela Jayawardene (100) slammed a century to take Sri Lanka to 173 for seven in twenty overs before heavy showers interrupted the match to reduce the target to 104 from 11 overs.
Zimbabwe were 29 for one in five overs when skies opened up again and further play was not possible. They were found short by 14 runs when D/L method was taken into account.
