Sri Lanka beat India by 10 wickets at Galle
July 22nd, 2010 - 5:24 pm ICT by IANSGalle, July 22 (IANS) Sri Lanka beat India by 10 wickets in the first cricket Test against India and took a 1-0 lead in the three match series here Thursday.
Sri Lanka openers Tharanga Paranavitana (23 not out) and Tillakaratne Dilshan (68 not out) chased down the 95-run target in 14,1 overs.
Earlier in the day, following on India were all out for 338 in the second innings. India had made 272 in their first innings in reply to Sri Lanka first innings total of 520 for eight declared.
Sri Lanka off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan took eight wickets (5-63, 3-128) in the match and gave a perfect finish to a stellar career, claiming his 800th Test wicket in his last match.
