batNov. 2, San Antonio (THAINDIAN NEWS) The players at the NBA match at San Antonio between the Spurs and the Kings on the night of Saturday 31st October had a new spectator come to their game, albeit an annoying and uncanny one, it being Halloween. A bat came flying and started to interrupt the game. Thankfully, one of the players came to the rescue. Manu Ginobili of the Spurs decided that the bat was getting way too close for comfort, and caught it with his bare hands.

The bat came flying from the AT&T rafters during the first half of the game. The players’ attention got diverted and the game was getting steadily hampered even though they tried to ignore the interruption and continue with their game. Soon, it was impossible to ignore the bat anymore and the game had to be stopped midway. The bat kept soaring very close around the court. The game already had to be stopped twice before Ginobili decided to use his basketball skills to catch the bat.

The bat was flying too close in the air around Ginobili’s head when he caught it. His hand eye coordination and reflexes came to a different, but no less useful, purpose as he swiped the creature clean out of the air. He hit the bat that fell to the floor. The player picked it up and took it in his palm. He then gave it to someone to get rid of it. Standing ovation followed from both the teams and onlookers as he was given some disinfectant and the game was resumed. Before that, the theme song from Batman was played on the court.
