Sports commentator Jim Huber dies

Los Angeles, Jan 3 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Jim Huber has died at the age of 67 years. The ace sports commentator passed away last Monday (the 2nd of January 2012). A statement which was released by Turner Broadcasting System Inc. failed to state the cause of his death.

As a sports commentator, Huber often reported on golf and NBA. He became part of Turner Sports in 2000 and has since worked for CNN hosting his own show called CNN’s Pro Golf Weekly and Sporting Life with Jim Huber.

Huber has been part of Turner for about 27 years now. The President of Sales at the company in a statement said that, “The Turner Broadcasting family suffered a great loss and we are saddened by the passing of our colleague and friend.”

Before joining Turner, Huber was a renowned essayist. He has won an Emmy for his work and was one of the most respected in the profession. Turner acknowledged that fact when the statement said that, “A terrific Emmy Award-winning journalist and essayist, Jim made so many contributions during his more than 27 years with our company.”

His wife Carol and only son Matt survives him. There was no report on his funeral arrangements.
