Tiger Woods Florida, Dec 12 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Corporate giants AT&T and Gillette, who were the top-notch sponsors of Tiger Woods have taken a step backward and tried their very best to distance themselves from the scandal ridden golfer Tiger Woods. However they pulled back in a very decent way and took full advantage of the fact that Tiger Woods has taken an indefinite break from golf.

Corporate giant Gillette announced that they would cut back on Woods’ marketing role as the golfer focuses on his home life. “As Tiger takes a break from the public eye, we will support his desire for privacy by limiting his role in our marketing programs,” said a statement from Gillette.

The other major sponsor who is renowned world-wide too, AT&T wanted to put its logo on Tiger’s golf bag, and had even signed a deal in this regard, with the ace golfer, just earlier this year. But now they also want to backtrack, because of the ‘transgressions’ of the infamous sport star. “We support Tiger’s decision and our thoughts will be with him and his family,” said AT&T spokeswoman Susan Bean.

They seemed hesitant to be associated with him at this point, and to this effect they said that, “We are presently evaluating our ongoing relationship with him.” Woods’ ties to AT&T predate the golf bag deal.
