Speeding Defoe fined nearly 1,000 pounds
August 5th, 2009 - 5:09 pm ICT by ANIHertfordshire, Aug 5 (ANI): England footballer Jermain Defoe has been fined nearly 1,000 pounds after being convicted of a speeding offense.The 26 year-old Tottenham Hotspur striker was caught by a speed camera driving a Ferrari at 45mph in a 30mph zone in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire in October last year, The Sun reported.
Defoe was fined 500 pounds and was ordered to pay 455 pounds as costs.
Apart from the fine, the footballer was also docked four penalty points on his license for the offense. (ANI)
