Spanish footballer Villa leaves hospital after surgery
December 25th, 2011 - 6:57 pm ICT by IANSMadrid, Dec 25 (IANS) Spanish and Barcelona striker David Villa was given permission to leave the hospital after he underwent successful surgery on his broken left shinbone earlier this week.
The 30-year-old sustained a career-threatening injury while playing for Barcelona in the semifinal against Al-Sadd in the FIFA Club World Cup and is set to be sidelined for four to five months.
“David Villa was cleared to leave hospital, five days after his operation, and the Azulgrana number seven will now be able to spend Christmas with his family,” the Catalan club announced on its website.
